Identity for Hyperlab and its first product, Helios, a drill and reaction training system that measures performance as you train.

Context

Hyperlab builds Helios, a training system for athletes that combines precision drills, real-time performance data and interactive training modes. The company’s position is that serious performance training shouldn’t be limited to professional setups. It was featured on Shark Tank India in 2024.

That position is the design problem. The same product has to make sense to an academy coach who wants data and to someone training alone in a gym who wants to enjoy it.

Approach

The identity takes its logic from the product. Helios tells you where to move with light, so the brand works in black and white with a single signal colour, used only where something is asking for attention.

Numbers are treated as the main image. The product’s promise is measurable, so posters and packaging lead with a figure and a short line rather than a photograph of an athlete. The brand talks the way people talk in a gym: short, direct and a little competitive. Train hyper is the line, and the product copy follows it.

Learnings

The black, white and red system is strong on a poster and hard to read on a small screen in a bright gym. I would give the app its own light version from the start.
